How We Clean Your Screens

Most people try to clean screens while they're still in the window. That doesn't work. Here's what we do instead.

Careful Removal

We pop out each screen without bending the frames or damaging the clips. Some older screens are delicate, and forcing them leads to dents and warping. We take our time.

Deep Cleaning

We lay each screen flat and scrub both sides with soft brushes and mild soap. This gets into the mesh where dust, pollen, spider webs, and grime build up. A quick spray from a hose doesn't cut it.

Frame Cleaning

The aluminum or vinyl frames collect oxidation and dirt too. We wipe down every frame so the whole unit looks clean, not just the mesh.

Rinse and Dry

A thorough rinse removes all soap residue. We let screens dry completely before reinstalling to prevent water spots and mildew.

Reinstallation

Each screen goes back exactly where it came from. We check that they're seated properly and the clips or tabs are secure. No screens left leaning against the garage.

Prices vary based on screen size and condition. We'll give you an exact quote after seeing your screens. Most homes have 10-20 screens, so expect around $50-100 when bundled with window cleaning.

Common Questions

Once or twice a year works for most homes. If you live near farms, dusty roads, or have lots of trees, you might need it more often. Spring and fall are good times since you're probably opening windows more anyway.

We focus on cleaning and restoration, not re-screening. If your mesh is torn, we'll let you know and can recommend a local shop that does screen repairs. Small holes can sometimes be patched, but large tears need new mesh.

We can clean them. Security screens with steel mesh and pet-resistant screens with heavy-duty material take a bit more effort, but they clean up well. We'll note any special screen types when we quote the job.

Not usually. If we're doing exterior windows and screens, we can work around you. We'll need access inside if screens come out from the interior side, but that only takes a few minutes per window.
